José-Oriol Bosch Par

José-Oriol Bosch is CEO of Grupo Bolsa Mexicana de Valores (BMV Group) since January 1, 2015, which consists of the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV), the Mexican Derivatives Exchange (MexDer), and the Central Securities Depository of Mexico (Indeval). Additionally, the group includes central counterparties for clearing, settlement, and risk management of equity and derivative market transactions (CCV and Asigna, respectively), an OTC broker (SIF Icap), and an entity dedicated to operational valuation and market references (Valmer), among other companies.

José has more than 30 years of experience in the financial markets, starting his professional career at Inverlat Casa de Bolsa and later at Citibank Mexico.

In 1992, he joined J.P. Morgan, taking on various positions in New York and Mexico, until his arrival at BMV. He served as Managing Director of J.P. Morgan Chase and Co. (USA), as President and Chief Executive Officer of J.P. Morgan Casa de Bolsa, and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Banco J.P. Morgan (Mexico).

José was a member of the Board of Directors—as well as of the Control Trust—of the Mexican Stock Exchange from its own public stock offering in 2008 until 2014. He also served as director of MexDer and member of the Board of Directors of the Mexican Association of Stock Market Institutions (AMIB) for several years.

José chaired the Financial Markets Committee at the Mexican Banking Association (ABM) from 2007 to 2014, assuming the responsibility of supporting Mexican financial institutions and markets during the 2008-2009 crisis.

He was a member of the Board of Directors of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE), representing the Latin American region during the period 2015-2016. In 2017 and 2018, José was named by Institutional Investor magazine as the best CEO in Mexico, within the category of non-banking financial institutions (Small Cap).

He was also Chairman of the Investment Committee of two important philanthropic organizations in Mexico: Bécalos and Fundación Quiera, and is currently a member of the Advisory Board of the latter.
